Who are you?

We’ll talk about us in a mo, but first…

Who are you?

Hopefully, you own or work with a children’s brand, and you need some serious help with your marketing.

You know the value of great copy or a sizzling email sequence.

Or maybe you see your competitors being featured by popular bloggers online and you want a slice of that action for yourself.

The problem is, you’ve tried working with copywriters before, and it wasn’t pleasant.

The blog posts read okay, but they lacked any real oomph or personality, so while traffic was going up, none of it was sticking around, or had any interest in buying from you.

The web copy read like a tired blog post, with boring SEO-optimised titles and meaningless claims that should be a given, like “our friendly team can help you”*.

*Code for “I haven’t done my research and have no idea what to write”.

And it just felt you were working with a disposable team member you couldn’t actually speak to about your business without jumping through hoops and constantly nagging a Project Manager, whose response was, “but I’m meant to be your only point of contact!”

It’s enough to put you off working with a marketing agency ever again.

But we do things a bit differently.

*ALERT*

Oh, that must have been your BS detector sounding off.

And you’re right to be skeptical.

Because doesn’t everyone say that they’re “different” or “transparent”?

Doesn’t everyone brag about their years of experience and results, yet most of them still leave you with a bad taste in the mouth?

So we’re not going to shout about our 10+ years of experience.

Or the hundreds of page-one rankings we’ve secured.

Or how many pounds or dollars or Aruban florins we’ve netted for our clients.

Okay, you got us. We just did, a little. Except for that last one… we’ve never worked with a client in Aruba.

But the point is, we’ve both done our time working with digital marketing agencies — good and bad.

We know what best practices look like, but we also know what monsters lurk within the walls…

Like work being outsourced to people who don’t know what they’re doing.

Like deliverables going out to clients filled with wrong information or even downright harmful suggestions.

Like setting unrealistic deadlines, and selling services clients don’t need just to pad out their own pockets, despite not actually having the capacity to deliver great work.

And the marketing industry is rife with these monsters.

That’s why we decided to create our own.

Meet the monsters

Ernie the email marketing extraordinaire

Ernie is our resident email marketing extraordinaire, and it’s his job to create email campaigns that don’t take up unwanted space in your customers’ inboxes but that command attention and action.

Winston, the web copy wizard

Winston is our resident web copy wizard, and it’s his job to craft super-slick messaging that lets visitors slide down your page like it’s a greased chute.

Imelda, the influencer intellectual

Imelda is our resident influencer intellectual, and it’s her job to use her long list of connections to get your brand featured online — building brand awareness and pointing highly qualified traffic that’s excited about what you offer to your website.

Serena, the star strategist

Serena is our resident strategy superstar, and it’s her job to plan out campaign strategies that boost your exposure, ranking, traffic and sales, all without compromising your personality (boring? Boooo!) or resorting to fake and hypey tactics that leave you feeling like you need a shower… and a couple of large glasses of wine to forget the whole ordeal.

Baloo, the blog writing boss

Baloo is our resident blog boss, and it’s his job to whip up engaging blog posts that boost your ranking without boring readers.

Meet the monster handlers

It was a chance meeting when two digital marketing witches stumbled upon a tight-knit group of monsters without a home.

It quickly became clear that these weren’t scary monsters at all (if anything, it was the other way around — it took us a long time to coax Winston out from under the bed).

With mutual values of honesty, dedication, hard work, creativity and persistence, it seemed a no-brainer to join forces and delve into a market we truly care about — children’s brands.

Quick-fire questions

Favourite children’s book: Don’t Wake the Bear, Hare (I was well into my 20s when this book was published, but the kids I taught LOVED this book so much that every copy fell apart and had pages missing — good thing I memorised it!)

Favourite Disney movie: George of the Jungle

When I was little I wanted to be: A Power Ranger. When I realised that wasn’t realistic, I set my heart on being a writer

If I had a superpower, it would be: Telepathy

About Hannah

Hannah’s worn more than a few digital marketing hats in her five years in the industry, from project management and content marketing to editorial and strategy.

But her great love has always been copywriting, and it may be cliche, but she really could talk your ear off when it comes to psychology and persuasion.

As a direct response copywriter, she mainly works with Ernie, Winston and Serena, but she’s secretly on the lookout for at least one more monster to join the crew to satisfy her love for sales pages.

In a former life, Hannah worked as an Early Years Teacher, where she’ll never forget being told she had a “big bum” by a 3-year-old.

About Sam

jojo

Sam is a content marketing powerhouse with thousands of hours under her belt spent working with children’s tech brands, baby hamper companies and baby furniture brands.

She’s got her clients featured in Forbes, Glassdoor and more, but her ultimate passion is influencer outreach, and she’s built up a monster list of connections over years of arranging giveaways, reviews and sponsored content pieces.

Sam is mum to one extremely active (and incredibly adorable) toddler and loves using her experience as a mum to write relatable, shareable content. She hopes to become a child psychologist one day, and she has a number of valuable child psychologist contacts who are always happy to lend an expert opinion or two to any blog post!

Quick-fire questions

Favourite children’s book: Harry Potter (all of them)

Favourite Disney movie: Beauty and the Beast. And Moana. And Brave. Too many.

When I was little I wanted to be: A writer. Also Robin Hood.

If I had a superpower, it would be: To find lost things. I’m forever misplacing my keys.
